Megan Furniss, DO
Dr. Furniss is a board-certified dermatologist and member of the American Osteopathic Association who was born and raised in Humboldt County in Arcata, California. She graduated with high honors from UC Berkeley and is a diplomate of Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in California, graduating third in her class. After completing a two-year post-doctoral clinical research fellowship in autoimmune diseases of the skin at Columbia University in New York City, Dr. Furniss completed her Dermatology Residency at Michigan State University/Botsford Hospital where she served as Chief Resident in her final year.
Dr. Furniss is thrilled to be providing dermatologic care to the Lakeport community and brings over ten years of medical training and experience to Integrated Dermatology of Lakeport, PC.
In her spare time, Dr. Furniss enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and boating, as well as gardening, dancing, cooking, travel and eating.
Julie Plante, MD
Julie Plante, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in general, pediatric, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Plante was born and raised in Santa Rosa, California, and graduated from Montgomery High School as valedictorian. She attended Stanford University for her undergraduate degree and medical school. She continued on to the University of California, San Francisco, and completed residencies in both pediatrics and dermatology.
Dr. Plante has a particular interest in complementary and alternative medicine and tries to include these treatment modalities in her patients’ care plans when desired. A member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, and the Sonoma-Mendocino-Lake Medical Association, Dr. Plante also serves as a volunteer educator of family practice resident physicians. She is on staff at the Healdsburg District Hospital.
She has received various research grants, has published her work in multiple medical journals, and presented at national medical conferences.
When not caring for her patients, Dr. Plante enjoys exercising, traveling, and spending time with her husband and daughters.
Kinston Cummings, PA-C
Kinston Cummings is a certified Physician Assistant at Lake Dermatology, specializing in medical and surgical dermatology. With nearly three years of experience and advanced training in Mohs micrographic surgery, Kinston brings a strong clinical background and a compassionate approach to patient care. He is dedicated to promoting skin health and providing personalized treatment for a wide range of dermatologic conditions. In his free time, Kinston enjoys playing golf and staying active through regular exercise
